integrated design · art direction · creative strategy · consultation
Born and educated in Canberra, I began my graphic design career in 1999 working for
my
mentor and
pillar of the local design community, Bill Pearson, at his studio, Design One Solutions.
Since then, I have had the pleasure of travelling the world while working in London where my career,
and indeed my life, was shaped by diverse experience both on and off the job. Having followed
my roots back home to Australia and settling in Sydney, I am enjoying the mountains,
the sea and family…all nearby.
Today I am an integrated designer and art director with 16 years industry experience.
More than 11 of those were spent in London with a focus on branding, marketing
and promotions.
My expertise spans a wide range of clients across many sectors from technology
and defence to health
and education as well as government and not-for-profit. Major promotional campaigns
for worldwide brands
like Delphi and heading up a team on the 2013 Lloyds Bank rebrand have sharpened my strategic thinking
and
leadership skills.
Often, my sense of humour, tenacity and
ethics are a huge advantage in the
workplace, helping to fuse solid professional relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
While in London, I spent about 8 years with an agency called Barrett Howe.
With much corporate based design, there was a large focus on B2B brand marketing
plus a thoroughly healthy annual report season – including the occasional all-nighter.
Taking briefs from concept right through to production and also collaborating
with other members of the studio and the account team.
What I bring to the party is
a penchant for detail, a 'hit the ground running' attitude and
the ability to know when to push the envelope and when to fold it into a
paper aeroplane
and throw it out the window.
